The Climate Change Forum FAQ

What is The Climate Change Forum?

The Climate Change Forum is an independent, commercial organisation bringing people together at networking events usually held in London. We also run networking skills master classes, provide coaching and organise special technology briefings.

What is the format of the networking events?

Our events are usually held in the evening and start at 6.00pm with a guest speaker taking the floor at around 8.00pm. There is a lively Q&A session and then networking resumes. A little later in the evening, for those wishing to eat, an informal buffet dinner is available. Unlike most events, there are no large tables or formal seating plans. The informality of the evening is such that some people may arrive late or leave early. The evenings tend to draw to a close usually around 9.45pm.

How is The Climate Change Forum funded?

Revenue is derived from supporter’s fees as well as delegate fees from our networking master classes and coaching.

Do you guarantee introductions at The Climate Change Forum?

No, absolutely not. Attendees meet by their mutual consent.

Can an attendee decline an introduction?

Yes, there is no obligation for an attendee to see someone they don’t wish to see. Introductions can be declined.

Why do people from the public sector come?

Most people from the public sector come along because they want to meet senior industry executives from the private sector to discuss a range of climate change issues all at one event and all under one roof. The evenings represent an exceptionally good use of time for participants.

I am from the public sector and I would like to attend

If you are a senior civil servant who is central to the climate change debate then we would look to extend an invitation to you.

We do not charge public sector to attend.

I am from a service provider organisation – can I attend?

No, unlike most events, we do not invite executives from ‘service provider’ organisations such as executive search firms and law firms to any of our forums.

Can any corporation become a supporter?

No, becoming a supporter is not automatic. We vet each corporation to determine the suitability and relevance to our forums. We consider whether a proposed supporter would be beneficial to the network. We always look for mutuality and for senior executives who can enrich conversations and who themselves will be in demand at our events. If these criteria are not met then we do not invite the corporation to join.

Unlike most forums, we do not invite executive search firms, law firms, corporate communications agencies, independent consultants and other service providers to join any of our forums.

To maintain a balance at The Climate Change Forum, opportunities to become a supporter may be limited.

How much does it cost to get involved?

Rates for The Climate Change Forum are £1825 per event for one person.

Our networking skills master classes are charged at £1100 per delegate.

Rates for coaching are available on request.

Our supporter package includes: one invitation to each of our events and two delegate places at our master classes. There is a minimum term commitment of twelve months. There is also a once-only joining fee of £1500.

All prices exclude VAT.

Can I have category exclusivity?

No, unlike some events and forums, we do not provide exclusivity – virtually all industry sectors are represented by more than one corporation.

If I am a supporter, can I have a ‘speaker slot’ at a networking event?

No. Unlike many events and conferences, who offer a ‘speaker slot’ as part of a sponsorship package, speakers are chosen solely on their merits.

Who attends?

Attendees comprise:

• Chief Executives from FTSE-100 companies
• Environment and sustainability executives from leading retailers and manufacturers
• Senior Executives from utility, energy and clean technology corporations
